During a recent exchange of emails with a German acquaintance, I told him of my favorite radio station, to which I listen online all the time. So naturally, now, I have to wonder if there are any German stations that do simulcasting via the Web. It would be great if I could sit here in California, otherwise completely unreached by any German broadcast media, and get German radio over the Web.
I’ve put this in Cafe Society hoping to learn that there are a plethora of such stations out there, starting a brisk debate on musical and editorial differences among them.
Austrians, Swiss, or Liechtensteiners also welcome, of course! German is German, right? Well, at least in broadcasting, anyway.
Live Radio from Around the World has 17 page list of German radio stations with live feeds. You’ll need either WMP, MP3, or Real Player- preferably all three if you want to do any heavy browsing since each station is not available in every format.
Lots of pop ups, there, also, FYI. But totally worth the hassle. Austria, Switzerland, and Lichtenstein are also listed.

Radio-Locator only lists one station for Lichtenstein and it doesn’t bitcast.
These are great!
I’m listening to Bayern 2 right now. Lots of talk about the Danish newspaper caricatures.
