I’m very pro-nuke but this might be a good thing. In the end it will prove how much power is attainable from renewable resources. Since I expect it to fall far short this will give a boost to nuclear power.
I’m looking forward to them succeeding. While everyone else divides their time and money keeping the struggling nuke industry alive, Germany will position itself as the world leader and expert at achieving it’s emissions reductions while also reducing reliance on coal and fossil fuels. They’ll be years ahead of the game. Well they already are, but now we can watch and see it happen.
Conversely, it will be tremendously interesting seeing how nuke pans out in China and India.
