I think that’s pretty good. They have one glorious year in the ever more distant past and fanatically devoted though not very numerous fans, many of whom have unusual facial hair. On the other hand, they’re not constantly in the shadow of more popular and successful nearby rivals, so in that way Spurs might be more like the Clippers or Nets. But those teams don’t even have fading memories of glory to cling to.

What’s funny and this is just a observation… I’m black… and a lot of my friends …also black . hate the Spurs… I’m a fan… OUtside of the Jordan bulls I delight in the way in which they play the game. I remember arguing in a facebook sports group… while Mr Duncan and his guys were slapping Lebron around… they were arguing that “pick and roll” was garbage basketball. I adore fans. They/We say the funniest shit when their team is getting handled.
