Get ass fucked by a lepurous capybara christian rockers

Amen! It’s rare that I agree with everything anyone says, but I do on this one.

Cool site. I scored 10 out of 12.

Satanic easy listening (besides Kenny G).

Think about it. If their is Christian hard rock then there should be nice, smooth devil worshiping music.

Random thought to distract from paper writing. Carry on.

“Oz Fox Rules!”

So did I!!!

Anyone want to go to the “abstinence for 20-something men” rally?

OK, here goes. I am a teenager. I am a Christian. Most of the music I listen to IS Christian. Some of it is rock music, a lot isn’t. I’m interested to know if your collective “beef” is with all Christian music, or just Christian rock.
Duck, you say that Christian rock sounds like regular rock and that the rationale is so kids can be socially accepted by listening to the “right kind” of music. I might be (and probably am) in the minority here, but I don’t like listening to music which is mainly cussing or sex or something like that. It’s not my preference. My preference is to listen to music that I do not disagree with the message of. That is why I listen to Christian rock rather than some other band. Also, your friends don’t say, “Hey, man, you’re listening to rock? You’re cool!” Heh, no, sorry. They talk about BANDS and SONGS. Specifically. So listening to Christian rock isn’t going to get you any more “accepted” than listening to Praise music.

Thea, they DO write intelligent music. It’s not all drivel. Seriously. How many ways can you say, “I ran away, I killed a dude, I took some drugs, and $#&@# my girl.?” Again, I ask, is your problem only with rock, or with other Christian music as well?

Reply, and I’ll be back.

No, you guys can have Ray Stevens and easy listening and wimpy folkish stuff and that “Oh Happy Day” song and all that crap. Just stop trying to taint our fun, sexy, evil rock’n’roll with your religion.

And how is Creed different…?

Ever considered broadening your horizons?

you poor thing… kidding.

My beef is with crappy music… Sadly, most christian music seems to be crappy. Why? because they are christian firs,t and musicians second. Luckily, most other religions have better music. Rainer Maria has a devout christian as the lead singer, he doesn’t wear it on his sleeve, he makes good music. I find Satanic bands slightly better, because they don’t try and put stupid messages in their music… For that reason I think the Danzig sucks.

Even better are bands with no religous orientation.

**
could you post some examples, I’m trully curios.

If you think that’s what secular rock is like, then I direct your attention to Morphine, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, most of the Beatles, hmm…just about my entire cd collection, except maybe GnR and AC/DC. Even then, GnR had some great non fucking people songs.

As for my opinion of Christian rock…bah. Creed couldn’t blow harder if they had an electrified blowing machine. Higher wasn’t a bad song…everything else was.

As for me, I take pride in the fact that I scored two.

BTW, does anyone consider Moby to be a Christian rocker?

You da man.

nope. Why? cause christian rock sucks, and Moby’s cool

What about MXPX? They are definatly christian, but they are a good band. On the other hand…
I like christian rock, because i enjoy really hating stuff. It gets makes me giggle with glee as i rant and rave against it. They used to have an add for christianity on T.V. that featured D.C. talk. They sucked so much it was fantastic.
I also heard a christian heavy metal band. The music sounded exactly like a depraved beast devouring some helpless creature. The lyrics read stuff like’ praise to jesus, mighty emperor of the kingdom of earth’, not that you could make that out between the screams. A sheep in wolfs clothing.
Yes,i am glad christians attempt to make religous rock. The more stuff i have to ridicule the better i feel about myself. Dont you all feel better venting about how much they suck?
BTW i got 4.

My husband’s opinion is that he always wanted to be a musician who was also a Christian, but not a Christian musician? Know the difference I’m talking about?

Dude, stop, you’re scaring me!

Back in the early 90s, one of my teens asked me some serious questions about religion through playing “Something to Believe In.”

I’m still working on the answers.

We shared an ability to grieve for his grandfather and for my father (whom he had known) and later for his father when he died (whom I had known – the two fathers were two of a kind) through Mike and the Mechanics’ “The Living Years.”

It’s not the genre that makes music good or bad; it’s the content. I have heard little or no Christian rock that speaks to me, and I’m a rock fan of 40 years standing and a devout Christian. But if it works for some people, who am I to have a problem with what works for them?

Just to clarify something, though, spooje is plainly wrong:

Well, no.

But he’s working on signing them.

First off, Pixie, my horizons are plenty broad, thank you. I OWN (not counting what I only LISTEN to that I don’t own): All three Star Wars soundtracks, the Armageddon Soundtrack, a bunch of Mannheim Steamroller, some Joe Diffie, Bill Engvall, and Jeff Foxworthy, the Simpsons Songs in the Key of Springfield, the B-52’s Time Capsule, Bring in 'Da Noise Bring in 'Da Funk, and much much more (including my Christian music). Yes, I think that’s fairly broad there.

Flymaster, no, that’s NOT what I think ALL secular rock is, but I was replying to Thea Logica’s statement stating that all Christian rock was “Praise God!” which it isn’t.

Oldie wanted some examples. OK. I don’t own a LOT of Christian rock, but I do own some and I think it is good. I also listen to quite a bit.

Band: Audio Adrenaline. Album: Don’t Censor Me. Song: Can’t Take God Away.
About the current movement to take God out of everything.

Band: Model Engine. Song: Hang You Upside Down.
About living as a Christian.

That’s only a couple songs that aren’t about saying “Praise God!” There are many more. I selected these two because I like them, AND I like the music too, not JUST the message.

I didn’t know Mormons used hand signs, or at leats I don’t recall seeing them back when I went to church. Is that a temple thing?

They claim that they aren’t a Christian band. If Vh1’s Behind the Music is to be believed, the lead singers is rather conflicted about his beliefs.

If these lyrics had been writtens by dissidents in China, I would have thought, “Wow, how brave”. It’s harder to take when it comes from people who have neither been jailed or stripped of their land because of their beliefs.

No, you are right, they aren’t about “Praise God!” They are about ; “Oh no, I live in a secular society, SOCAS is only the thin edge of the wedge! Danger, Will Robinson! Anti-Christian Inquistion imminent!” chuckle
