Get me outta here!

I’m studying for my master’s in Entomology, and, if all goes well, I’ll graduate in March or April of next year.

When I’m finally done with the freaking Degree From Hell, I’d like to live somewhere outside of the US for a while. I’d need to earn at least enough to make payments on my student loans (after consolidation, I could probably beat down my monthly allotment of Federal flesh to about $150/month.)

What do you guys suggest?

Well, how about living in Australia? Of course, that’s a totally unbiased suggestion.

I’m just guessing that you’d like some place with some interesting bugs.

Hmm, from what I’ve watched on Discovery lately, you can pick between Brazil (the Amazon), North-ish Africa (the Sahara) or Australia, as some of the most insecty places in the world.

I’ll second Australia

But would Australia take Scribble?

If you only need to lay out $150 a month for student repayments, and you want a job as an

please excuse my premature ejaculation there won’t you! I’ll get back as soon as I have recharged my verbal batteries, OK?

Hey, Caught@Work, I’m one of those XX chromosome people.

I’d love to go to Australia, or Brazil (I’d love to check out Brazil!), or lots of other places, too. The question is how I can do that.

One option I’d consider is going for a doctorate, making sure that my research project requires long periods of international travel. But it’s harder to get yourself in a position like that than you might think, and I’m not all that eager to go through yet more grad school right away.

Kambucta, I’d love to hear whatever you’ve got to say, once your capacitors are holding a little more voltage.
