Getting it on with Progressive Rock

I don’t understand how Genesis so often gets excluded from prog discussions. Seriously, page 2 and not a single mention?

As to the previous mention of JS Bach, I would say it truly becomes prog when played by Wendy Carlos.

On prog boards Genesis (Yes,Crimson…) get talked to death.

Its always stupid noob posts like: " “Roundabout” VS “Watcher in the Skies” "

Howabout something ( a wee bit) less obvious: bands clearly influenced by Genesis.

I know right. Genesis pretty much invented Prog.

Brand X!

Apart from having been mentioned already. See post #30.

I saw Brand X (Kenwood Dennard on drums) at the tiny UC Davis Coffee House back in the day. Goodsall was on fire that night–one of the most impressive guitar performances I’ve ever witnessed.

Lighten up, dude. He amuses me even though (especially because?) I don’t like prog music.

No love for Rush?

None in the least.

Why would you ask?

Are you feeling not right about their music and seeking confirmation?

Genesis.

Methinks Wallace needs to start a music blog.

“Remember when we together went down to the sea.”

It appears he is.

Wallace gots two message boards.

One is full-up and I’m not gonna pay for more space.
The other is a nasty, nasty place. Not for those with - as the Drake documentary has it - a skin too few.

Drake is prog rock?

Monkey-Drake? no.
Nick Drake, also no.
