Getting my car to honk whenever I lock it

I have a 1994 Monte Carlo with a remote lock/unlock thing (technical term = ?). However, unlike most cars, it doesn’t make any sound whenever I lock it, which creates doubt in my mind as to whether or not it locked. Is there any way to get it to honk?

I have no idea about yours, but in my friend’s car you have to press the lock button twice before it honks. Maybe go try that?

Otherwise i’m not sure if there is an easy way to make it honk when you lock the doors but you could call the dealer or a shop and ask them they would probibly know.

Don’t the indicator lights blink when you lock it?

I’m pretty sure you have to buy a security system before your car will make that squeek squeek sound.

The remote lock unlock thing is called “remote keyless entry”

I discovered early on that I could deactivate my 2002 Nissan’s honk (I don’t like the sound) by pressing the buttons in a sequence described in teensy tiny little raised black-on-black lettering on the back of the remote. The method was also described in my owner’s manual in lettering that was much easier to read. I’d suggest you look closely at your remote and read your owner’s manual to see if yours has any options. If there’s nothing there, you might try calling the nearest Chevy dealer to see if they know of a way.

, etc.

No, I usually lock it twice anyways, and what are indicator lights, and I’ve already checked the manual and clicker. Aargh, I don’t want to call them, but it looks like I shall.
