Getting older

You might try getting used to Other milks – soy, almond, rice, etc. They are not milk, but they are opaque liquids which lack lactose. Just don’t expect them to be milk, and they can be quite agreeable.

I have very few conventional vices but now even those are being taken. Shit. An endoscopy revealed “possibly precancerous cells” in my esophagus due to chronic acid reflux.

So my two luxurious tall mugs of strong tea over the course of a morning is getting phased out to one piddling small cup and then, probably to Pero or some abysmal brew like that.

I don’t mind all the petty aches and pains nearly so much as the increasing brain erosion. Not being able to remember names, dates, or why I went into a room is

On the plus side, I am still extremely bendy. I am coming on 65 and I can hop up from the floor about as well as I ever could.

I was gonna post something about this, but now I can’t remember what it was. Shit!

That’s definitely happened to me. I still occasionally eat pizza, but if I don’t take a lactaid I’ll suffer if I eat more than just one slice. Same thing with just about anything else dairy - a little bit is still okay, but even a moderate amount can variably trigger digestive issues.

Well, I bought a quart of lactose-free milk today. I’ll have a cookie and milk after dinner and see what happens when I go to bed tonight.

Inspired by this thread, I’m starting to do daily cautious squats all the way to the floor to try to maintain flexibility. I’ll add in some stretches, too.

I’m going to try adding this to my few daily stretches. I’m quite bendy at the waist and, despite my fat, can still slap my hands to the floor (despite whining hamstrings). But I need to keep my knees working; I’m being too kind to them after my last couple of big falls.
