Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai

I went and saw Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai yesterday and really enjoyed it. GREAT character (a very soulful performance by Forest Whitaker as a mafia hit man who lives by the samurai code), really incredible original soundtrack, interesting and funny villains, cool gadgets, the works.
It reminded me of everything I always liked about really good comic books. It’s a independent (written & directed by Jim Jarmusch) film with a limited release, so if it comes anywhere near you then do not hesitate to see it … I plan on seeing it again before the VERY limited (5-day) run here ends.

“The thinking man’s Reservoir Dogs!” - my friend Max

It is a good film. We saw it opening night in a packed Dupont Circle theater. I had to sit on the floor to see anything, either that or risk neck injury trying to see if from the one remaining seat in the front row.
Does anyone know if there is an English version of the Hagakure online? Even better, the version he used?

I thought the movie was great as well. Forrest Whitaker’s best performance to date. Jim Jarmusch is a great director, and he often has fun with foreign characters, no exception in this movie, funny stuff.
I liked how the cartoons were used to foreshadow actual events in the movie.
