Yep, Tucker, I’m with you, and that’s the only scene I remember too. Big turtle swimming away from the camera with initials carved in his shell. Came on tv when I was a wee lad, but I have no idea the name of the movie.
I read, and now re-read, the Discover article.
While it suggests turtles are not subject to many the same aging factors as mammals, I think it falls short of suggesting that they are “immortal.” Very interesting stuff, tho. Anyone out there wanna take over for that guy?
