why are you not allowed to resell gift certificates? i can’t imagine why the company would care, they already have the cash. for that matter, why would enough people want to resell them that they have to specify that you are not allowed to all over the back? if you buy them for $1 you can’t sell them for more then that (except maybe to a real stupid person) so its not like you could make a bunch of cash or anything.

is it to stop say, a mcdonalds employee from nabbing a stack of em and selling to his buddies for 50 cents each? someone photocopying them and selling them? i can’t really think of anything else.

Another possibility is that they are trying to prevent you from selling it to someone who might actually use it. If you don’t like it, and can’t sell it, you either buy some crap you’ll never use, or do nothing and they make a profit without giving up any merchandise. It’s like free money!
