Girl Genius-- What's happening?

I know there are others here who follow Girl Genius. In all the time the comic has been running, it’s been posted every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday without fail. Occasionally there’s been a filler page when the intended episode wasn’t ready yet, or a last-minute “It’s still Monday!” update at 11 PM, but they’ve never once completely missed an update.

Until now. Here it is Wednesday, and the current page is still showing as last Friday’s. Anyone know what’s going on with the Foglios?

According to the Girl Genius Facebook page, Kaja is sick.

As posted on that page (not sure if by Phil, or someone else who manages the page) on Monday:

Hello, all.

Sorry to say that there will not be a new page going up tonight, because Kaja is sick. I’m pretty sure it’s not the 'Rona, but she’s been flat on her back for the last 24 hours and change. It’s all drawn and colored and everything, so we’ll try to get it up soon.

Just to close the loop on the story, Kaja Foglio posted the below on the Girl Genius Facebook page about an hour ago:

Hello everyone! Kaja here. I’m home from the hospital, and officially COVID free. I had the test! The horrible one where they stick swabs way down into both nostrils. Apparently what I’ve got is a really ferocious (and completely undeserved, I might add), infection which was giving me high fevers alternating with uncontrollable bouts of clenched muscle shaking, accompanied by huge amounts of migraine and back pain. So, yeah. That was fun. I’ve been pumped full of antibiotics, narcotics, and anti-nausea meds, and they are slowly doing their job. The doctor said it would take a couple days before I feel better. I was actually able to manage a shower just now, and only started to black out at the very end. Improvement! Also, now I don’t stink. Lord, I was stinky. Thank you so much for your concern, everyone. I really appreciate hearing about all your good wishes. I’m wearing out again now, so I’m going to post this a couple of places and then close my eyes for a few minutes. I’ll be back with the story soon, I’m so sorry for the delay! It wasn’t even this bad back when I had surgery, I still got the page posted from the hospital, but this just wasn’t the same, I could barely send texts, and sitting up wasn’t happening.

I’m a bit surprised that Phil didn’t post anything on the Girl Genius site-- I think they’ve both posted updates there in the past.

Given that Kaja was actually in the hospital (and Phil was, I imagine, there with her), it may not have been possible for him to post an update to the strip’s website. Posting to their Facebook page, on the other hand, could be done using a phone or a tablet.
