As a man who is about to become a father in February, I know that if my first child is a daughter, she will always be my little girl. I can only hope that I can be as good a father as you are to your daughter, Shodan.

Oh that was lovely, even if I did get something…er…in my eye 
I have 3 daughters, aged 6, 4 and 1, although I’m sure it’s only a few months since I gave birth to the first.
It’s all going far too fast 
I think I’m gonna call in sick and go home to play with my 2-year old daughter for a few hours straight – unless lieu can let me in on his secret…
Hope I’m ready when the time comes: “Now, honey, you know Daddy gets woozy when you talk about that stuff…”
I live on a whole other continent to my dad and I miss him loads. The time difference makes it difficult to call and catch both him and my mam together. When I called home this lunchtime he had stayed home and waited for me to call (even though I got stuck at work and was late) just to hear what a good time I had at our work Christmas party on Saturday. He was also there when me and my sister had out first periods, hands out the hugs when we have cramps, buys tampons as well as all the other dad things such as picking us up at 3.00am if we get stuck anywhere and showing us how to change a flat tyre, check oil etc on our cars, hang shelves, mend a tap as " no girls of his were ever going to be defenceless females" and telling me a good come back to say to a bully I had at junior school that I was never allowed to say ever again as it was bad and not to tell my mam either as he would get in trouble 
. I tell him I love him everytime I speak to him.
And now I am in tears thinking about how much I miss him

Yep… nothing like a daughter… nothing even close. Why didn’t I recognize the best part of life till it’s dwindled away? Sure miss the 10 and 15 and 20 and 25 year old her…
