Girls und Panzer is a new Japanese anime that started airing this fall, and the premise of the show is that (non-lethal) tank combat (called Tankery/Panzerfahnen/Tankwondo) is a competitive sport between girl’s schools. The tanks used are exclusively World War 2 era makes and the show follows Nishizumi Miho and her school compete in a national tank tournament.
