Give a TV show you love (or used to) a much-needed kick in the ass.

Soon there will be only one L&O spinoff remaining; CI ends this year. I blame the French.

While I actually like Benson (the female detective on SVU, played by Mariska Hargitay), I too would like too see both her and Stabler go, simply because they’ve pretty much exhausted their storytelling possibilities. Also, it was premise of the show in the early days that no one stayed in that unit long, simply because it was so emotionally draining. I’d not object to a wholesale turnover, keeping, say, Fin on as the new unit commander and dumping the rest.

Imagine the fan backlash if they got rid of either Stabler or Benson on SVU, I think they’d be better off just ending it. If they were going to retool I’d say bring back the episodes where Munch and Fin got to actually do something, and maybe that will distract from how stale some of the Stabler/Benson storylines have become (or we could have Stabler and Benson in a state of undress every episode, I would also approve of that as a distraction).

If any of the detectives left they’d have to bring back Cabot or Novak as the DA to keep me interested. I want to at least pretend it’s the glory days, even if we’re well past them!

Novak, but only as a redhead.

[spoiler]This is Stabler’s last season.

I’ll have to spoiler-box my response:

10 to 1 he leaves after killing someone.

Umm hello. One of the therapists is a Tina Fey doppleganger. I’m tempted to trash my house just to get her to come over and help me clean. I’d watch that.

The CBS Evening News - Bring back Walter Cronkite!

What? Oh. Nevermind.

Yes, more Munch and Fin, there is so much potential for them to have good professional fights over cases.

Oakminister, great idea. Even though it was still better than most of what was on television at the time, BSG deserved better than Season 4.0 and beyond.

Oh, and on Bones, Bennett and Boothe need to have sex or the show needs to end soon. I do not want to watch a Moonlighting 2011.

Yes, but consider that an all-nude episode might also feature hoarders who have been without running water for months.

I don’t now if they need less episodes, but they need to split them up evenly. This last season had 12 summer episodes and 6 winter episodes. The summer felt way too long and the winter felt way too short. 8 and 8 or 9 and 9 would be much better. And I think they need to throw a couple extra “story” episodes a season, not just the season finales.

The Venture Bros needs to go back to doing some one-off ADVENTURES. You know, the Johnny Quest style single episode unlikely adventures they did a lot of in the first two seasons, which are what the show was supposed to be a parody of.

Absolutely. It’s gotten to be “difficult jobs” or even just “jobs”. I recognize that they’re running out of dirty jobs, but then the show needs to end, as much as I love it. I have no interest in watching Mike just hang out with people, funny as he is.

I almost agree. There is one thing better: Mike Rowe going inside a tiny dirty hole of some sort. The only thing worth watching in the otherwise boring as dirt Rum distillery episode was Mike getting into the still to clean it.

Hey, hey…we’re the Monkees…such fun for your average teenybopper and I was that then…but this is now.

Every person on Bones needs to be eaten by wolves, who are in turn eaten by more wolves. I used to like this show, but it’s gotten totally stupidly overblown to the point that it seems like parody.

Also before being eaten by wolves, Sweets needs to be thrown out of a window from a tall building.

Hmmmm…well, not going into huge detail, and not sure which episodes marked the start of which season, considering the half-season blocks that were broadcast, but…

Starting with the “death” of Starbuck–that either doesn’t happen, or if it does, she’s gonna stay dead. With that as a point of departure, I’m probably going to take it in the direction of them finding our Earth–coming up with an explanation for the Dylan tune that fits, maybe swapping out some of the Final Five–never ever liked Saul M_F Tigh being a Cylon. Might actually pull the trigger on a “humans lose—everything” scenario, with the Cylon fleet wiping out Earth…or both sides perishing in a climatic battle (possibly with survivors limping away in opposite directions so that all of this can happen again in another 30 years or so…and absolutely no “God did it” woo-woo crap in there.

“Dirty Jobs: Chernobyl Tour Guide” could be entertaining.

Well the solution to “Dirty Jobs” is simple enough: go into the dirty jobs managers do. “Lobbyist” – have a corporate lobbyist show Mike how you use legal donations combined with personal visits to bribe a politician without getting involved in any legally dfficult quid-pro-quo business. “PR Expert” – shows Mike how to lie on TV about things your company has done or not done, how to create misleading advertisements, how to set up charity programs to make your company look good. “Outsorcerer” – shows Mike how to look for opportunity to fire high-priced American workers and replace them with low-priced third-world workers. “Chainsaw” – shows Mike how you take a company or division of a company and make it more lucrative by firing large numbers of people. “Shark in Suit” – shows Mike how functional psychopaths can succeed in a corporate environment while making everyone he knows miserable.

Really, this would give the show a new lease on life!

Regarding Hoarders, what would really make the show grand is if they ran a special “MST3K” style episode. The online snarking community for that show is so popular that at last count seven of the cleaners/therapists have checked in and three of them (Cory Chalmers, Matt Paxton, and Robin Zasio) are regular contributors! Hoarders is so eminently snarkable, such a weekly trainwreck, that I honestly am beginning to wonder whether it’s specifically edited for laughs…having a comedy background is the obvious next step.

Dr.Who, lose the quirky humour, it was good for a while, but now lets have some "dark"stuff.

Also more alien planets, less visits to Earth.
