If you ever have an opportunity to do so, there are direct flights from Washington DC to Tokyo where you spend a lot of time flying over the Canadian Rockies and Alaska. The trip is around 14 hours and can be all daylight, and it was one of the most spectacular flights I’ve ever taken in terms of scenery. It’s also very cool to fly over the Grand Canyon, which you end up doing on most flights into Vegas from points East. I also enjoy flying over Manhattan at night.
