I was watching Gladiator on DVD last night…in the opening battle against the German barbarians, I was Stunned & Amazed to hear that the Germans’ war chants and cries were directly lifted from the soundtrack of Zulu (1964, Michael Caine & Stanley Baker). !!!
Anybody else notice this? Oddly enough, I didn’t notice this when I saw Gladiator in the theaters, but it was unmistakable at home (especially if you’ve seen Zulu several times).
Any scoop on how this came to be? (If it’s in the 4 hours of bonus material, forgive me, but I haven’t gotten around to that yet).
