Glowfly and Moth Story?

My google fu is failing me but I am looking for a story I remember from church as a child because I would like to read it this weekend.

It was about a fly and moth and seeing the star of Bethlehem. Basically, the fly goes to investigate and is rewarded by becoming a firefly and the moth is left to forever chase bright lights in search of the same reward.

I suppose I could paraphrase it from memory but I’d like to have a “original” copy for myself.
Ring any bells? Title, source, or links?

Googling “fly moth Bethlehem” takes me straight back here. I wonder if it’s not an “official” story (i.e. one that’s written down somewhere Google-able) and instead was simply part of that week’s sermon?

Variations on firefly/flies and Star of Bethlehem doesn’t lead anywhere.

Some possibilities: The sunday-school teacher/pastor made it up themself (unlikely, but possible if they were creative enough), they got it from a book of children’s sermons, or it was part of a “lesson plan” from a curriculum of sunday school or Bible lessons that hasn’t been digitized.

I am not currently Christian, so I don’t know where to point you, but you could maybe look for online associations of Children’s Pastors or Children’s Church Teachers, and if they have a forum or a contact, see if you can get them to post your question there. Your memory is of a very specific and “sticky” idea - surely if someone there had done or experienced the same lesson, they would remember it, and maybe be able to lead you in the right direction.
Alternatively, you could look at some Aesop’s Fables and some of the Parables and “new” parables (the tale of the three trees comes to mind) and create your own version based on what you remember.

Thanks, unfortunately the person who used to tell these stories to us has passed.
I guess I will write down what I remember and try to fill in the rest.
