Le sigh… I don’t have time for this!! Is anyone else having issues with gmail bouncing back yahoo email because of demarc/domain issues???
All of a sudden I’m having job applications submitted through job boards like Monster and CareerBuilder (using my longtime yahoo email) - which I’ve used in the past without issues - now throwing the applications aside because gmail doesn’t like the domain. Or whatever.
I am NOT fluent in computer-speak. Or code. What I AM is out of work. And pissed.
Is there somewhere online I can find the info I need that is dumbed-down and step-by-step for computer-illterates like me in order to FIX THIS SHIT NOW?
It’s not something you can fix.
Go to Yahoo Help and tell them what the problem is - it’d be best if you have a screen shot of the error in a format you can pass to them.
Get a gmail address to use just for submitting job applications.
i afraid you guys would all say that. new gmail account it is…
thnx
Not sure what that problem is all about, but – If it’s a problem with yahoo, and can be solved by quitting yahoo, then go for it.
Yahoo has updated their e-mail and other services many times over the last few years, and IMHO every upgrade has been seriously shittier than the previous version. Even here on SDMB, I think we’ve had numerous Pit threads about it.
Myself, I’ve largely abandoned yahoo mail over the last few years. I have just a few remaining occasions to use it, and I’m even giving up on those lately. Yahoo mail has become outrightly unusable.
Are you filling out a form on the job site, and that is sending an email on your behalf?
If so, the problem is probably with the job site. It’s sending from @yahoo.com with an origin of their.smtp.server and Gmail is like “uh, this from email address doesn’t match up with their.smtp.server, it must be a spoof” and it gets bounced.
If that’s what’s happening, it’s a problem with the job sites, not Yahoo or Gmail. But getting a Gmail address would help deliverability if you are sending to Gmail addresses.
