And I chose one exactly like this one, minus guinea worms. Other than losing human suffering, show me how the ecology of the planet would suffer.

Have you no thought for the micro-parasites which infect the Guinea Worm? Why, you’ve disrupted an entire food-chain and micro-habitat! The consequences might be felt for…oh…entire centimeters!

I asked a doctor once what he thought was the biggest design flaw in the human body (what would he improve), and his response was: the coronary artery. A human can’t survive without a heart, and yet there is just one fragile little artery delivering oxygenated blood to it, keeping the heart alive. It’s a system in desperate need of a backup.
