And that was before the Protestant Reformation. Now that there are several branches of Christianity that run the gamut from strict Unitarians to strict Trinitarians it is indeed much less clear.

Have no fear. Both the Jews and Christ preached about reincarnation. Until the council of Niccea in AD 553, Reincarnation was official Christian dogma. The removal began around the same time the church started charging for sin removal.

FYI: The folloers of the B’Hai and of Meher Baba believe that all religions are ‘true’ and all the same god. This same god has sent down messengers, or incarnations of god, to various cultures at different times - including: Zoroaster, Ram, kristna, Buddha, Jesus and Mohammed. Abraham, Moses, and other profits are referred to as minor-incarnations of God.
