Again, you miss the point. People aren’t glad that children are screaming. Rather, they are glad that Christ appears to be coming soon. The difference is huge and fairly obvious.
One can recognize that great suffering is occuring, while simultaneously taking delight in this indication that the Messiah’s return is nigh. It’s like saying “My wife’s birth pains are intensifying, but rejoice! This means that her child is about to be born!”
Fair enough, I guess. I suppose I’m just not going to be able to understand the mindset. Since I’m not expecting any imminent return of any messiahs, I’m more interested in the people dying and suffering now than in my own future “salvation.”
But that predicates on the fact that I think the entire Armageddon scenario, in all its many forms, is hogwash. You’re welcome to think me an unwashed heathen for it.
