Goin' to Cedar Point - any tips?

Love the park, first visit 1978 for the 8th grade class trip. We try and go every year great rides and unbelievably clean. This year we are planning to take our boat and stay at their marina. From Erie, PA to Sandusky that’s 140 miles on the calm waters of Lake Erie in a 20’ boat, please wish me good weather for next week!

I’m not sure which direction you’re coming from, but depending on the ages/height of your kids you may want to reconsider Cedar Point. Cedar Point is a Roller Coaster park and if your kids are either 1) not tall enough for the coasters or 2) have no interest in them you would be better off choosing another park. Cedar Point is not geared towards families, but more so towards adults. They do have some rides for younger children, but not comparable of other amusement parks that I have been to. I personally love Cedar Point, but generally try to get grandma to watch the kids when going there. The water park at Cedar Point is an additional charge on what is already a high ticket price.

If you are looking for something that is more geared towards family with a water park there is Six Flags Worlds of Adventure in Aurora Ohio. Six Flags bought out Geagua Lake last year and then acquired Sea World of Ohio this past winter. The only thing that they are missing from Sea World is Shamu and Mamu. The ticket prices at the gate are $40 for one day, $55 for two day and children under 48" $20 one day and $43 for two day. Since season pass holders have coupons to get friends in for free next week my guess is that you can get the ticket even cheaper because they will be selling them outside the gate next week. They generally meet you halfway and charge $20 for them to pretend you’re their “friend”. As a mother, I see Six Flags being more geared towards children/families as well as adults.

Their waterpark is by far much better than Cedar Points and you don’t have to pay a seperate entrance fee for it! Sorry for the long post (my first time), but I wanted to give you as much info as possible!

I’m going to Cedar Point next week , too!! My son’s been waiting threee years to be tall enough to ride MF. Does anyone know how the ride and slide gold tickets work? Can you go between parks as much as you want in the two days?
