UK folks with Sky channel, it’s on tonight at 9:00pm. I’d love to know any details about how it goes over in the UK, especially since the cult tried so hard to keep you all from seeing it. I hope it gets a lot of viewers who will be watching out of spite.
The US DVD is on pre-order on amazon. It will be released October 6. It’s supposed to be on “VOD” the same day, but I think VIMEO has an exclusive for awhile. Don’t quote me. It might be on Netflix at some point. I don’have Netflix either. Do they ever even shows HBO movies?
The cult is trying to Fair Game Alex Gibney again. Well, they have been all along, with their attack ads, but in the past few days, a cult PI has been trying to find people to interview about him. Gibney tweeted:
The bully cult got a second theater near Clearwater to drop the film. I’m on a train on my way to the movies, so I hope this link works.
Two other theaters further away from Clearwater have stepped up and will be (fingers crossed) showing Going Clear: Muvico Palm Harbor 10 in Palm Harbor, and AMC Veterans 24 in Tampa. We’ll see how long they last.
Edit to add: overnight ratings suggest that at least 88,000 in the UK saw Going Clear last night. That’s just direct views, not including DVR views.
I’m not sure how valid a threat the COS is making to these theaters: “Better not play this movie that we have no intention of seeing! If you do, we’ll forbid our forty bajillion members from going to your theater!”
Going Clear has been dropped from one of the two Chicago-area theaters it was scheduled to open in tomorrow. Their Tweet to me:
Film drive? In a brand new state-of-the-art theater? Sure. Uh huh.
Sounds like a good opportunity for some enterprising investigative reporter.
Boy I wish. There’s a story there. Going Clear is due to play in another Chicago theater. I’m going to see how easy it will be to reach after work tomorrow.

Watched this last night. Stunning that they were able to successfully take on the IRS! I wondered if other non-COS groups might try the “avalanche” of lawsuits strategy against the IRS.
It’s just amazing that intelligent people could swallow such nutty stuff.
