I was already grinning about the wise words concerning prejudging anyone and then this–I’ve got a lump in my throat now.
I’m so happy for your great weekend!
How will we know which one is you?
While I’m not a big fan of putting my own image onlie, this is a pic of the bride, eith me in the background, so to speak.
This is a photo of my wife, and her mom, sisters and brothers. Keep in mind this does not include offspring from them and in laws. This is a large family.
Smiling and a little teary-eyed here. Sounds like good people to be family with. Try not to let it be so long until the next time, okay?
I’m glad everybody had a good time. And I’m seconding the pictures request. Man in uniform, hmmm.
This is one of the best threads I’ve read on the SDMB in a long time!
The bride is lovely, and you look so proud (and handsome). Thanks for sharing the photos, and for the sweet, touching thread.
I bet you’ve never been so glad to have been wrong.
What a wonderful experience, and great pictures!
Thanks!
And Ferret Herder…I have stopped referring to the wedding as “my wife’s niece” and I’ve been saying “MY niece”.
Because, while I still have a niece and nephew from my late sister and a few cousins and unts and uncles left, my wife’s family made me feel like family too. After meeting them again after all of these years and meeting some of her aunts and uncles I’d never met before, I just know they don’t refer to me as the “colored guy she married”. They were great, and I told you that her mother cried when I came in the door she was so happy I’d come.
Heck, during the wedding dance when the bride and groom had their solo dance, my mother in law came up and grabbed my hand, buried her face in my ribbons and said “I am so happy.” while crying. That she grabbed my hand when 10 of her 11 children were there meant a lot to me.
Wouldn’t it be great if the whole world could feel like this?
I’m still going through photos and trying clean up the poor ones…
(camera was really low onm power, so the auto focuse was not really good)…but her is the bride and groom on their first dance as man and wife.
Maybe you had to be there, but you could feel the love in their eyes and movements. I was overwhelmed by it. I am so happy for them.
Seconded!
Hmm, all I see is a buncha cats.
Just kidding, more great photos. They both look so attractive . . . and happy. Ain’t love great!
You could see that they love each other at the wedding. It was really great.
I do love wedding pictures where they actually look happy. And those two do. Now aren’t you glad you went?
OK, now I’m all verklempt!
What does verklempt mean?
“choked with emotion”
