Todd Hoffman has to be one of the dumbest people I’ve seen on TV. He makes Homer look like Stephen Hawkings.
The number of dumb things the Hoffman crew has done is stunning. They don’t seem to ever account for the possibility of something going wrong in their plans. And they are lazy. If I was stuck in a gold field waiting for equipment to show up or be repaired I’d be washing and panning by hand the whole time. It would at least pay for the workers who have nothing else useful to do.
Fred may be an asshole, but he works harder and smarter than the rest of them. He’s got a good chance of turning a profit. Parker works hard too, but not always smart. All of them should have invested in drilling equipment. They are digging blind hoping to find gold, and paying someone else to drill samples for them. They all should have started with a lot of drilling to find out where the gold was first, and make their plans based on that.

I first thought this show was quite funny… A bunch of idiots led by a fat ignorant twat! The old guy is brilliant and soo funny to watch! What a bunch of muppets! What was NOT funny was when the guys shot a beautiful bear in ITS HOME because of there stupid fucking BRATS leaving food around… I’d rather see the brats shot!!! I hope a big fuck off bear eats one!!!
from the stuff I’ve seen recently all the groups are making very good money mining gold in Canada. They just wrapped up season 5. Parker has leased land from a guy who has been mining up there for 20 years. His grandfather is still around to give advice. The ocean gold mining show is also still on TDC.
The mechanic with the back trouble died last summer , a few years after he was axed from the show.
