Good 10-30GB MP3 player

I had an ipod touch that I really enjoyed, but it is broken now and I can’t justify spending $200-300 on a 32GB ipod touch and 8GB is way too small (I need 16GB minimum and would prefer 30 or so GB).

I got a 30GB zune and that was ok, but now that is having troubles too.

So I am in the market for a 10-30GB mp3 player (it doesn’t need video playback) that also needs software (either compatible with the MP3 player or independent software) that will download my podcast shows and put them on my MP3 player. I like a lot of news podcasts, NPR podcasts, etc. I have been using zune software and itunes for my Zune and Ipod respectively. I don’t know what independent programs exist for that though.

Does anyone know of one that would fit that description (low cost, 16-32GB of storage, compatible with free software that will download and transfer podcasts)?

I’ve moved onto the ipod touch, but prior to that I had a Creative Zen (16 GB + SD card slot) that also came with an easy to use program for downloading and managing podcasts. I’d guess that their current players work just as well. I liked the Creative players.

I recently bought a 30 Gig iPod Video (5th Gen) for about $70 US and put Rockbox on it as a replacement OS. It works great and I just dl from the appropriate web sites straight to the device.
