Good-bye Hamza

The lil’wrekker’s oft mentioned poor penniless boyfriend has gone back to his apartment and University. He needs to work. He has his students rounded up.
I’m happy he has work. The lil’wrekker is happy he’s making money again.

We had a crawfish boil in a goodbye tribute. That was his favorite thing we do around here. We all love crawfish, so it was perfect.
I made a peach cobbler and the kids and Pop-pop made icecream. Well, not entirely true. I made the mixture they put it in the electric icecream churn. The kids like watching it go round and round and adding ice. Go figure.

Hamza left about 6pm. Me and the lil’wrekker cried buckets. Hey…he is a good bathroom cleaner.
I’ll miss all his help. He griped less than my kids about the work. He always has a cheerful countenance.

He’s not gonna be able to come back for awhile. At least until we get some more assurances about the virus.

Yep, he’s gonna be missed. Who else is gonna finish up all the leftovers? Even odd casseroles?

Good-bye Hamza.
Don’t get the virus.
Have a good school year, make lots of money.

See, Fate sent you Bayliss the Tail-less for a reason.

I thought that exactly. @cochran

I think that the past six months, between the eviction of Poncho, and the invasion of the family, have caused some pretty big changes to your lifestyle, Beck. I think that you’ve secretly enjoyed having a houseful again far more than you thought you would.

I’ve enjoyed my kids and grandkids. I like knowing everyone is safe.
The enormous amount of work I could do without.
Don’t let’s talk about laundry.

I had kinda gotten adapted to being alone. Just me and the pets. Mr. Wrekker has had to adjust way more than I have.
Not going to his breakfast diner, the Joint or his hunting and fishing trips has really upset his lifestyle.
The Lake had opened back up so he can go down there and get a little respite from all us.

We’re coping. Good somedays, not so good others.

Isn’t there some cautionary tale we’ve heard recently about Bayliss, odd casseroles and puked up amphibians we should be taking to heart here?

I’m not sure when life will ever get back to normal.

People have gotten used to spending more time at home. Extended families are living together again. Sometimes that’s a good thing and other times it’s stressful. I really enjoy meals with my family. Then playing cards or watching movies together until bedtime.

Living in a empty nest again won’t be easy for me and my wife. But hopefully we’ll all still be ok after the pandemic ends. Survival is what matters most.

This blasted COVID crap has impacted damn near everything. I believe the people who have coped the best are the ones who sheltered-in-place with family. Our biggest fights in Life are usually with family members, but there is the foundation of love and support with family that is usually in no other place.

Hamza was fortunate to be “adopted” by the Wrek family. He’s far from his own family, and he really would have been adrift at sea if Li’l Wrekker hadn’t dragged him home. He forged bonds with everyone that will be lifelong.

I hope he has a seat at every Wrekker Thanksgiving table forevermore.

Hey, @VOW, he has my cel phone number. He’s part of the family. :smirk:

I kid, we love him, even if he is a weird little shit.

There were moments during the last 6 months when he questioned the reasons he stayed, I’m sure.
Overall we enjoyed him here and he enjoyed the food. Alot.

Peach cobbler, mmm. Tell us about the other food, please. And your 1-800 number for reservations

Are you saying he’s just A Ring Tone away?

Oh! Look at the Time!

Is that what it takes? Having your phone number? Hmmmmm

Yes and that number is Sooper seekrit’.
Coz, I am a secret agent.

And… I like seekrit’ shopping. :smirk:

Or maybe Seekrit Squirrel.
