Good, concise overview of the Punic Wars?

If this is in the wrong forum, my apologies.

My Classics professor summarized the three Punic Wars. Unfortunately, he didn’t have much sleep last night, and it shows. I am completely confused - all I know is, some guys names Scipio and Hannibal were running around the Mediterranean.

I don’t need anything in depth, just something that covers the basics. It can be online or in a book, but please something readily available.

Hm, I actually don’t have any ready recommendations. The wikipedia articles aren’t bad, and this page, although clearly very amateur, seems to be fairly complete and I haven’t noticed any mistakes.

I wish I could give you an actual book reference by a historian though, I may have to get back to you on that. All the books I’ve read have been, I suspect, more in depth than you need.

LaurAnge, thank you. That is just about what I’m looking for!

I had glanced at the Wikipedia stuff, but I am very reluctant to trust the site in general. The only way I would know if something was wrong was if I knew about what I was looking up in the first place!

I can just see it now… “Columbus succeeded in reaching the New World only because of his victory over Hannibal Lector the year before…” :smack:
