Good country music songs named after cities or states

Baja Oklahoma, by Willie Nelson & Lesley Ann Warren

If you will allow Bruce Springsteen’s Westen Stars album as Country then Tuscon Train is a pretty good number. Somewhere North of Nashville less good but its got a city name in it.
I wouldn’t say I am a Springsteen fan but I really liked that album.

Steve Earle - San Antonio Girl

“LA Freeway” by Guy Clark

My all-time favorite: Benson, Arizona!

Dallas by Joe Ely is a favorite of mine…All the YouTube versions seem to be live, but if you have a streaming service give it a try from the album version.

Are we including alt-country?
Old 97s - “A State of Texas”

For certain values of “good”, there’s always “Tulsa Time” by Don Williams.

I’ve read several posts about the song The night the lights went out in Georgia, My only question was is any part of the lyrics taken from a real event? Everybody seems to have torn the lyrics apart and changed them for their own reasons. It is my opinion but Prison guards (Candletop) made have to stay at the facility for 2 wks and then come home. How someone decided it was a prison I don’t know. I know the lyrics have been scrutinized over the years but I would like to know where Bobby Russell got the words to create the characters.

North to Alaska by Johnny Horton

There’s no indication that it was inspired by any real incident.
