Villagers whose food is stolen and are injured by elephants rescue calf.
Sounds touching, but it’s hard to infer any motivation from the villagers beyond self interest; the well would be useless if poisoned by a rotting elephant corpse.
At least they ran like hell instead of trying to sell him to the circus.
