…besides the String Quartet version? Which is good, don’t get me wrong, but it’s not very “hard-edged” sounding. Are there any Heavy Metal versions that are faithful to the original, just sans lyrics?

Anyway, I’m not aware of any instumental versions of SBS, at least not by any of the hard bands.
