Good movies with low shot counts?

I have a rough outline for a no-budget short dramatic/comedic film. I would like to storyboard the entire thing, and then recruit my talented photographer friend with the promise that we can get this done with X number of shot setups, where X=reasonable.

Anyway, I need some inspiration. What movies can you recommend that make the most of long, relatively static shots? I’m not thinking novelty-long, like Rope. I’m thinking more like Woody Allen’s Manhattan; on my 3rd or 4th re-watch I finally noticed that some scenes were comprised of a single shot. Are most of his movies like that? (I’ve seen most of them, but never bothered to analyze them in this way before.)

Theo Angelopoulos’s absolutely wonderful The Travelling Players is almost 4 hours long and has probably less than 100 shots in the entire film. Some people will inevitably call it slow; I think it’s profoundly moving and very beautiful.

And while he’s an extremely YMMV director, just about anything by Bela Tarr will also qualify.
