Good News for Big Bad Voodoo Lou, Me, and Other BtVS Converts..

No worries. I’m sure I’ve missed something cogent that WhyNot has posted at some point.

Maybe.

Oh, and the karaoke isn’t as cool as I’d hoped – it doesn’t delete the voice tracks from the original song, it just has subtitles so that you can sing along. But why would I want to sing along with Anthony Stewart Head? He’s a better singer than me!

–Cliffy

He’s a better singer thasn everbody! :stuck_out_tongue:
Actually, one thing i noticed about that ep., is that the three best singers all have a solo song (Giles, Tara, and Spike.) Hell, the two best of them even manage to have a kick-ass duet together (I jsut wish that song was lnoger, the harmonies of their voices is earily awesome.
)
The worst singer (Willow) has…two? Maybe three singing lines total in the whole ep. Though I seem to recall reading somewhere that Allyson Hannigan knew she sucked mightily at singing and asked to sing as little as possible. Buffy, Xander, and Anya all seem to be in the “don’t suck, but aren’t going to be on Braodway” catagory. And from the few solo lines from Dawn is seemed like she’s actually decent. If it wasn’t for the fact that her song that got interrupted would have been craptacular because of content, I might like to hear it.

I CANNOT wait to see this musical.

Whedon discusses this in, among other places, the liner notes to the OMWF CD, which I own. He says that while he always fantasized about doing a musical, on Buffy or elsewhere, he only began to think seriously about it after a get-together with the cast devolved into an impromptu singing session. By the time he began writing the episode and the music, he already knew who among his cast had such voices that they needed to be showcased, who had such voices that they shouldn’t, and who didn’t have a great voice but was a terriffic dancer.

Although despite the fact that Hannigan only has like two lines, one of them is about the best line in the episode.

“I think this line’s mostly filler?”

That makes me laugh every single time.

Unless the line you’re referring to is one of the ones that FX cut… :frowning:

Is this a good thread to mention that Joss Whedon has apparently asked Tim Minear to write a script for a Spike TV movie?

What’s on the extra disc? Will its content be available on its own somehow to those of us who bought each season as it came out? I have all things Whedon (so far!) except the last season of Angel, which I will buy soon.

Do you have his Astonishing X-Men comics, or the Fray trade paperback? And what about all those action figures?

Indeed I do. I have Fray in single issues. I bought them as they came out, which took a long frigging time. I have all the Astonishing X-Men so far, plus the Angel miniseries Whedon wrote. I also have a copy of the script to “The Body” autographed by the entire Season 6 writing staff. And both issues of the Serenity comic that have been released so far.

I have probably 95% of the action figures that have been released. My Fiesta Giles, autographed by Anthony Stewart Head, is among my favorites. I don’t have Red Pants Willow from the first wave, and there may be a Werewolf Oz variant I’m missing. But hey, Joss didn’t sculpt the figures himself so I don’t think they count.

Wow! I’m just starting to look at the figures, and I’m stunned by the lack of availability and the ridiculous prices some of them are commanding. I’d especially love to get Doppelgangland Willow, Giles, and that gorgeous library playset that is coming soon, but those might take me a while. But you must have a hell of a collection!

It’s pretty ridiculous. My husband manages a comic shop, so we get really good discounts on everything we buy through the store. Otherwise we’d never be able to afford it. For my birthday, he’s buying me the replica of the scythe thingy from Season 7 (and Fray). I don’t normally get stuff like that, but he wanted me to have it.

Oddly enough, while I was typing that sentence he called to me from the living room where he’s going through the new issue of Previews and says, “Hey honey, you want an Urn of Osiris?”

Got it in one, Misnomer.

Oooh, today I got Anthony Stewart Head’s album, Music For Elevators (featuring guest vocalists James Marsters, Amber Benson, and Alyson Hannigan!)
