Good (?) news for Deadwood fans

Milch and HBO have reached an agreement, and we’ll have another four hours of Deadwood after season three is over. Two two-hour “movies”, I guess. That’s enough of an accommodation for me to not cancel HBO.

I don’t have a cite, but it’s being reported at the TWOP board and at other fan sites as well.

Here is some of the best commentary on Deadwood I’ve ever read. I was debating whether or not to buy the season two DVD – I didn’t like it as much as the first season – but reading this blog gives me a better appreciation for it. So I’m buying it.

In case anyone forgot, season three starts Sunday.

That soon?! Sweet!

About fuckin’ time, those cocksuckers!

A couple of the articles in the blog had some small spoilers for the first few episodes. It looks to be a delicious season.

The only thing I wish Milch and the writers would change is Trixie’s language – fuckin’ this and fuckin’ that. She was one pissed off woman all through the second season. But I wanted to wash her mouth out with soap. (Maybe some of the soap from Leon and Jimmy’s bath in season one.)

That’s the second time I’ve run across his blog in the last month, and now I’m bookmarking it for future reference. Matt Zoller Seitz was the film critic for our local alt-weekly in the early-mid 90s, and he was far and away the sharpest reviewer I’ve ever read, plus just a damn good writer. Good to see his excellent taste and insight are still intact.

I got a media release from HBO on the upcoming episodes of Deadwood. I’ve been debating whether to post them. They are typical “teasers” but might reveal more than someone wants to know. I will post if you want.

As to news of two two hour special episodes, I’ll take it. But after Deadwood is gone, and the last episodes of The Sopranos are over, I’m outta there.

Please do, in a spoiler box just in case some people don’t want to be teased.

That’s a good site. He has a great break-down of Ellsworth’s character. To find it, search on this. . .

Man, I can’t wait for Deadwood.
