Good news! Teixobactin!

No, really, it’s good. (New antibiotic that can kill superbugs, like MRSA.)

The cynic in me says “Great! Another antibiotic that we can overprescribe and use indiscriminately until it becomes ineffective, too.”

The TV watcher in me says 'sounds an awful lot like Tomacco. Is this a joke thread?" Maybe our 800th thread about bacon.

The drug has been discovered. It kills bacteria. Does it kill mice? If not, how do people react to it? Stage 1, then stage 2, then stage 3 trials. If all goes well, it might be on the market in five years. Or maybe not. Then it will cost $100 a dose. I’m not holding my breath.

Sounds like an Aztec name.
