Good songs in commercials.

Since I always post in the “Commercials I hate” threads with relish, I figured I’d do the opposite.

Does anybody else find the Mercenaries commercial song amazingly catchy, and funny as hell?

I always loathe to admit when the ad folks win one and get my attention, but I have been humming this to myself all day.

Any other good recent songs from [sub] evil stinking bastard[/sub] ad people?

There’s a commercial for Amtrak that I liked at first. It had a catchy little tune. After repeated hearings I’m starting to hate it, but I liked it at first.

My wife and daughters forced me to pony up the 99 cents to download Calabria 2008 - the song in the Target commercial

whoop whoop!

“Picture Book” - Hewlett-Packard

Not recent but a true classic: “Hilltop” (aka “I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing”) - Coca-Cola.

The commercial for retail chain “Zellers” used a song by the Be Good Tanyas called “The Littlest Birds”. Liked it so much I bought the album. And then two other albums.

The car commercial that has “Godzilla” by Blue Oyster Cult. Only it makes me sad to think of all the younguns who may not know it’s a real song.

I’m rather fond of the “Rhapsody in Blue”, used as a theme by one of the airlines … I can’t think which one at the moment …

I think that all of the They Might Be Giants-penned Dunkin’ Donuts commercial jingles have been outstanding, to the point where I almost want them to release an album of the songs once the ad campaign is over.

The two most recent are two of my favorites, especially the “Moving” one.

All except the “karate” one - that was just annoying and terrible.

I just found this page with links to all of them!
