WOLF LAKE!
I’d kill to have this episode on tape. “Be prosperous and multiply!”
How could we forget the champion of “They Deserved Better”: Star Trek (the original series). They certainly deserved better than:

[li]Being unceremoniously dumped into the worst possible timeslot (Friday at 10 PM. Jeezus, this isn’t Eischeid ya know![/li][li]Getting a producer who has virtually no knowledge of the show and proceeds to put his own imprint on it, regardless of the work of earlier seasons[/li][li]Having their budget slashed to make it harder to tell good stories[/li][li]Gene Roddenberry caring more about network politics and having his bluff called than about the show that made him famous[/li][li]Syndication editors who emasculated whole episodes by the ill-timed dropping of a single scene[/li][/ul]
OTOH, considering the legacy it spawned, I suppose it could have done worse.
What ever happened to TV Funhouse? I loved that show, and Comedy Central never gave it much of a chance.
Covington Cross
I think I was the only person in America who watched it. You don’t get many shows about the middle ages in prime time.
And I can’t remember the title of this one- a short lived comedy about Washington D.C. I remember David Hyde-Pierce as a suicidal congressman. Hilarious!
Bosom Buddies was one of my all time favorites. As I recall it was cancelled about 4 episodes into the 2nd season. I am not sure how much longer the Tom Hanks in drag would have remained funny, though.
Speculation has it that The Sopranos will end after its 5th season. One more after the upcoming one later this fall. 65 episodes of The Sopranos is not nearly enough.
I was sad to see Hill Street Blues end, although the show was on the decline. Too many characters were coming and going.
The Adventures of Beans Baxter…one of the Fox Network’s first shows, and I loved it.
I watched Covington Cross. My mother mocked me for watching Covington Cross.
The other show was The Powers That Be. (The main family’s name was “Powers”). Wonderful show. The Boston affiliate wouldn’t air it during primetime and so I had to catch it at 4am on Saturdays (or something similarly evil) but it was very much worth it.
That’s it! Very acerbic and satirical. I loved it.
I’m going to vote for REMEMBER WENN
