Good Xbox games for younger players?

Shhh! Don’t let him know, but flodjunior is getting an Xbox for Xmas. He’s the last of his friends to get a game console, and All He Wants For Christmas is Midtown Madness 3… I’m satisfied that he’s done his research and he knows this is the console he wants.

But… he’s nine years old! Mamma ain’t ready to give him anything with an “M” rating, which so many of the highly-touted Xbox games have. Any favorites that would be suitable for a younger player? On his PC and GameBoy he likes to play sports games, race/rally/car games, and some of what I think of as “classic arcade” stuff, e.g. Mario Bros. He’s already getting FIFA Football (Soccer for some of you!) 2004 for his PC. And of course MM3 for the 'box.

Aside from a little cursing, “Munches Oddasee” is a fun, well crafted, and cute game. I am sure there are more younger person games, but the Xbox targets older kids and adults.

I’m afraid that’s not really my area of expertise.

I just thought I’d post to congratulate you on not letting your son play M rated games. That’s there for a reason, but mostly people ignore it.

I’ll shut up now before I go into angry game fan mode - I’d imagine FordPrefect knows what I’m talking about. But yeah. Good form.
