so I’m testing out this google adsense ad thing but my site is just art images and the only thing it can use is the title. I sent the support an email but maybe others would have another opinion. It says it takes 48 hours to crawl before you see different ads. I had tried adding meta tags but didn’t wait long enough… and looked up on the net and they might not be used nowadays. Think it might be the content it checks out. So on another page I tried some written text keywords at the bottom with the same font color as the background. But I’d rather not have anything people can see. There’s also in the webpage making program under ‘insert’ and ‘comment’. Thought maybe that’d add something people wouldn’t see but it could crawl. What would be the best thing to use? And also if I use text that has the same color as the background I can’t seem to make some sort of rectangle box that just has that color in it. Seems like the whole page background has to be that color. Is it just the program I’m using that sucks? Its something I found for free a while back… front page express 2.0.2.1118. Seems good enough. Although my hosting doesn’t have remote linking so when I’m trying to make a page I have to put it on this other hosting that has linking so I can see what I’m doing. Then open the htm page in wordpad and replace all http to the main host. That’s cause they’re unlimited.
well I changed it to just meta tags… so I’ll leave that for a few days and see.
well… google got back to me with this:
If you do not want to add any text-based content to your pages, then
AdSense might not be a good fit for your site.
At this time, AdSense only targets ads based on overall text-based
site content, not keywords, meta-tags or hidden text.
If you’d like to display ads related to specific topics on your
website, we recommend including more text-based content about these
topics on your site to assist our crawlers in gathering information
about your pages and determining relevant ads to display. Complete
sentences and paragraphs are helpful to our crawlers in determining
the content of a page. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee the results
of any changes you make to your pages. If you make changes to a page,
it may take up to 1 or 2 weeks before the changes are reflected in
our index.
