I can remember drive-in movies when I was a kid…still recall seeing Bambi with the neighbor girl while we were sitting on the front bumper of the car while my parents and her parents were in the car chatting - we both ran crying to the car when the fire scene came on the screen and the parents were surprised to find their kids weeping and wailing at a Disney film.
Of course, later as a teenage, going to the drive-in movie had other reasons as a motivation, but still always liked the adventure of being sort of outdoors and able to laugh and make snide comments about the movie with friends. I guess it was a hint of things to come when VCR/DVD’s would hit the market and you could watch films with just your friends.
