Is there any way to find out the exact date when pictures of particular areas of Google earth were taken? Thank you.
I don’t know, but check this out.
(bump)
Is that a missile in flight?
Supposedly.
No, just an air plane with black wings.
You can turn on ‘Digital Globe Coverage’, which will let you click on a square and see the original photo image, with date/weather info.
Ah, they’re so apparent now… how did I miss that? But what kind of jet is it?
I assume you mean within Google Earth, not maps… but I can’t find that setting in either one.
Care to enlighten us?
MD-80?
Check the comments in Szlater’s link for some ‘informed’ discussion…
I’m running Google Earth 4.0.1693 beta, and the option is the last one in my Layers list, ‘Digital Globe Coverage’.
What does it mean if my house is not in one of those “Digital Globe Coverage” boxes? (Besides the fact that I live in the sticks.)
There are boxes all around my town, but my town is not inside of a box. I can see my house, but it’s pretty fuzzy compared to the houses inside of actual boxes.
What coverage is my house based on?
