OK, for some reason, Google News is now showing me a previous location as my local news default. If I click on “Local news” it does show both, and a option to add more towns/cities.
But I dont want news from the previous city. How do I get Google to get rid of that default?
I believe it is showing you what you have shown interest previously by clicking on that type of story.
What you can do: there is a vertical … hidden quite cleverly - hover with the mouse just after ‘News.source # hours ago’ and you will see it. Then you can select hide or shower fewer stories of this type.
Those instructions only locate you in the country. To specify local news besides the location which is automatically generated from the IP address, you can add a (truly) local place after clicking on “Local News”:
Google News never has much of a clue as to where I am. Yesterday my “local news” was from Gatlinberg, TN, which I have at least been to before. Today I’m in Bartlesville, OK, which I’ve never even heard of.
