GOP Presidential Candidates: The Elimination Game (Round 2)

There’s still time for Joey Buttafuoco to throw his hat into the ring.

My choices in bold.

Christie (yes he’s an asshole but he seems less likely to govern purely on the basis or right wing talking points than Rubio)
Kasich (attempting to absolve myself of the sin of voting for Santorum in the previous round
Pataki (has at least some governmental experience)
Huckabee (tough call: The president has limited ability to advance a toxic social agenda, but has great ability to totally dismantle it. So Paul is more dangerous)
Graham: I support Graham over Perry for three reasons: His intelligence, the fact that he isn’t from Texas, and, ur, um, I forget third one.

Rubio
Kasich
Pataki
Paul

Graham

Christie - Obnoxious but certainly more capable than Rubio

Kasich - I don’t know him that well so this is a “anyone but Santorum” vote.

Pataki - I have to hope my fellow voters were just screwing around when they picked Fiorina in the first round.

Graham - An easy vote given Perry’s obvious lack of skills.

Huckabee - He seems to fit the Reagan mold - an amiable dunce - so I hope that he wouldn’t screw things up too badly

Rubio

Kasich

Pataki

I feel nauseous.

I got a bit busy last night, but here are the results:

Rubio - 13
Christie - 10

Kasich - 23
Santorum - 0

Fiorina - 1
Pataki - 22

Huckabee - 6
Paul - 17

and

Graham - 19
Perry - 4

The Rubio-Christie match proved much closer than I anticipated, with a surprising preference for experienced corruption over inexperienced incompetence. The only other shock was that anyone voted for Fiorina, but it takes all types I suppose. And Santorum has washed out, which I think we all agree is a good thing.

We now say goodbye to Christie, Santorum, Fiorina, Huckabee and Perry, and as Paul has already beaten Graham once it seems fair to show Lindsey the door as well.

Round 3 coming soon.
