Thayer’s Angel has always beguiled me (in an Anima sense more than any other 
). I’ve been seeing this image for about 10 years or so now and when I found out when it was painted I was completely shocked because she (subject/model) does not channel any of the 19th century beauty tropes, at all, and looks very contemporary.
