got your username.com ?

Slaphead.com has been taken, although it’s not being used at the moment. Ditto for most of the variations other than .info.

However, I have my realname in .com, .org and .biz variations - I was inspired to do so after seeing that some goober had pinched the .com of my first name and constructed a really crappy site on it.

Yes, it is. I’m learning my way around it, as I just migrated over from one of the hive-minds about six months ago. I chose it for its flexibility, and then found out that it’s much more flexible than I am, so my site’s got some rough edges, but reflects my life philosophy of “Good Enough”!

My username doesn’t seem to be taken under any extension, which isn’t too surprising.

Back in high school one of my friends once said that if you were to type in your first name and .com into an address bar you’d probably find a porn site. I was curious so I tried it out–and got a french herbal remedy site, which isn’t surprising since my name is a french name for an herb. I can’t get to it right now though, so I have no idea if the company is still in business. Some of the other variations are being camped, though .ca is open.

I used to have myrealname.com but gave it up years ago. It appears to be available with all of the other TLDs.

I do have my_amateur_radio_callsign.com though.

revtim.com is taken by the “other” Reverend Tim, an actual religious reverend who has a religious podcat.

Strangely, my realname.com is available, as well as net, org and us.

For gotpasswords, the .com goes to some sort of dating/sex service, but net, org, us and info are available.

Godaddy seems to use the same sort of name generator that AOL has - after it said gotpasswords.com was taken, it offered up things like tookpasswords, gotparoles, and pickedupkeys.

It got even weirder with realname - it plugged “ain” fairly randomly into my name resulting in things like caineciladams and ceciladamains.

But… is it worth doing?

.com is being held by some squatter company, but gorillaman .co.uk is free. And just to use on this board, I signed up gorilla_man@hotmail.co.uk.

I have realname .co.uk, and realname .com is available. Then again, I’ve got an unusual combination of names and am the only one of me on Google. I also have realname @hotmail.com, @yahoo.com, @aol.com and @gmail.com, which I think is enough to be getting along with

Yup! Nothing to see there, but I receive emails at ragiel@ragiel.com.

My firstname.com used to be a major Taiwan search portal. (But Yahoo! has since bought it and shut it down. :frowning: )

I do have my fullname.com and .net, though I haven’t gotten around to putting my website back up.

No, but apparently my .com username is for a group of women named Maureen who are travelling to a boatload of fun places. I wanna go to Prague!

My real name is being used by a dork for weather information and a boring webcam of a bird feeder. But the user name I use other places is all mine.

My site is my real name. It hosts my photography website, though it’s down for a short while since I’m changing servers at the moment. (check my profile for the address.)

I have antaresjb.com - in theory it will be used to create my website for my music, but right now it’s just a link to my myspace music page and another music page of mine. Because I’m a procrastinator like that.

Does it use its claws if you don’t convert?
My username is some kind of horsefarm website. I do own my realname.com though.

My *.com *is s clothing company, but I do have www.RumMunkey.net
