- Never used it. I’d certainly be concerned about privacy though. I know people/businesses that use various types of net-based services, but none use a service that grants full access to their own PC’s by a third party.

If you just want to be able to access files on a home computer from some other computer, you an do that with an always-on net connection and an FTP server installed on the home computer. And (using an FTP server program) you can only read/write files, not run programs… but if you had your own laptop, then you could just install all your own applications on the laptop anyway. Just don’t use MS server software…
