Most people have been convinced over the last 20 years that unions are evil. There has not been a positive union story since the newspaper busted them. Talk to a guy in his 20s. They hate unions and can not tell you why. They just know they are bad.

That aside, he did offer, as supporting evidence, that FDR shared the opinion. Now, FDR might have been wrong, too. But that IS evidence that supports his position. You seem to think it reasonable that he back up his statements (opinions) with “something”. Well, don’t you think it’s reasonable to acknowledge when someone does just that?

See, this is the problem. You are attempting to introduce the scientific method - the search for truth, or rather knowledge, based upon documentable observations, the ability to use a neutral basis of measurement to allow for independent verification, and is subject to falsification, among other criteria.
But obviously truth does not rely upon such silly means. Truth is about faith, which is why we must uncritically accept everything proclaimed by the Messiah. Our refusal to do such merely exposes ourselves as heretics or heathens, and thus, our statements are clearly without merit.
Indeed, the search for truth is a sign of our blasphemy when the Messiah has granted us all that we need.
We are but poor sheep who have lost our way, and only need to return to the fold.
