Govenor Scott Walker (R) WI

I was thinking more along the lines of the fixed-price, performance-based limited term vs. open-ended financial black hole kinda thing.

Speaking as a IT/FSO guy for a DoD contractor, with a brother who teaches public high school… well, from personal experience, we get a LOT less contract oversight and performance evaluations than he does. In point of fact, “limited-term” contracts are a total joke at every Federal contractor I’ve ever worked for.

That would show them, wouldn’t it? Hold teachers to the strict oversight and accountability that we apply to Haliburton and Blackwater? No more cocaine for you, Mrs. Grundy!

…pension, and OBTW - salary?

Just exactly how often are your “jokes” renewed? The fact is, it’s on an annual basis, in most cases.

Which is teachers and which is defense contractors?

Well, not much, anyway. And none on the floor of the Senate.

Actually, I get 95% of my health insurance paid for by the company, and matching on my 401k up to 7%, and an ESOP–all coming out of that lovely, lovely thing known as the G&A/Overhead CLIN. Way better than any company I’ve worked for that WASN’T a DoD contrator–the USDA/DeptAg contractor I worked for previously didn’t get nearly that good a negotiation.

The term lengths of government contracts and the length between teachers union renegotiations is not appreciably different–1-3 years being typical for the former and 3-5 for the latter, at least in the one specific school district I know.

Well I was correct. They only needed a simple majority to pass legislation that does not have to do with the budget.

Screw you, dems. LOL!

Screw the unions too.

Yeah…the Republicans in Wisconsin just destroyed their party in that state. Eight recalls in the Senate coming up. Recall for Walker in January. Total electoral destruction for the Republican party in Wisconsin in 2012. Well done, GOP!

Besides which, this vote was illegal. Wisconsin’s open meeting law requires 24-hour notice of any public meeting, including substantive sessions of the legislature. There was less than 2 hours notice of this vote. It’s going to court.

Great success for the Republicans in Wisconsin. The support will grow faster and stronger than the weak, tired, ineffective, lefty whines.

Great last gasp of Republicans in Wisconsin. Consequences have consequences.

Haven’t been paying attention, have you? A 100,000-strong demonstration in a state capital isn’t weak, tired or ineffective.

Maybe the Koch bros will throw even more money towards this movement. November is still paying off nicely.

That’s the nice thing about low expectations, I guess. You are never disappointed.

Please tell me that you’re really a liberal trying to make conservatives seem retarded. I find it hard to believe that someone can be as stupid as you.

He’s probably working on the assumption that cynicism is better than argument. Which may well be true if you have no case.

I’m guessing he was actually a sock, considering how quickly he was banned.

I’ll offer you two bets, Jayjay. $100 each.

  1. The courts will ultimately not void this legislation.
  2. “Total destruction” of the GOP in Wisconsin won’t occur, as measured by the fact that the GOP will retain control of at least one legislative house.

What do you say?

“Stupid” handed your ass to you last November.

If the Dems didn’t run away into hiding, non of this would have happened. Are they going to run away from every vote they don’t like? Those dems are disgusting slime balls. I’m glad the bill got passed without them…serves them right.

The squealing is going to be great fun to watch.
