Someone I know was just in a very serious car accident. He is in critical condition. He has no health insurance, nor does he have any car insurance. It is looking right now as if the accident was not his fault. But thats not my question. He is 20 years old. My question is, and I’m not sure if this can be answered here or if you would need to know more about the case, but is there any government program that would cover his (sure to be very large) medical bill? He’s very very poor if that helps. He has also been convicted of Concealed Weapon and Assault With a ly Weapon, but these were both as a child. Thank you all for your help.
This depends a lot on what state or country he is in.
But here in Minnesota, he might be eligible for the MnCare health program.
he lives in california, but the accident took place in oregon.
He pretty much doesn’t have to worry. Medical coverage is never denied. Uncollectable accounts are just averaged into the price of doing business and charged back to all of us. Government medical care amounts to the very same thing – the people that can provide for the people that can’t.
